1998 Standards for Employment and Community Support (1998)

This book is nationally developed and has an accepted set of outcome standards for services to students with disabilities moving from educational settings to adult environments. It also addresses school-to-work, as well as school-to-life.
Building Blocks to Employment: SSA Work Incentives (1997)

This book outlines the work incentive programs administered by the Social Security Administration. Topics include application and appeals, Title II and Title XVI benefits, student-earned income exclusion, property essential to self-support, and how to use these incentive programs to assist persons receiving benefits in moving toward employment. Case studies, worksheets, and formulas are provided to assist with application. This guide was produced under the sponsorship of the Rehabilitation Services Administration and Social Security Administration.
Creating Supportive Work-Based Learning Environment (1997)

This informational guide explores the interplay between the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the STWOA and provides helpful suggestions for making accommodations for students with disabilities participating in work-based learning environments.
Employer Incentives for Hiring Workers with Disabilities (1997)

Mission Possible emerged from the ideas and writings of students and teachers faced with the challenge to create interesting and informative career information for middle school students and their parents. These two resources can be used to guide teachers and students to develop hands-on activities, including publications, that will increase student and parent awareness of school-to-work initiatives in their school district.
