Para eLink Participants that report value in training:
311 invitees to the follow-up survey revealed 177 returns, 14% used the information several times a week, 33% used it a few times a month and 45% used it just a few times. About 8% have not used it yet. In terms of improving their professional practice, 14% reported a great deal of improvement, 48% reported some improvement, and 28% reported a little improvement. 93% would recommend it to a colleague and 77% recommended that MDE continue with the training.
Percent of trainer satisfaction with the training:
82% expected to use the information a great deal, 17% expected to use it some, 74% said it was valuable to their current position and 24% somewhat agreed - the same percentages through it deepened their existing knowledge or provided new knowledge.
Percent of trainers who applied their training:
Beginning in November of 2003, all follow-up questionnaires included an additional question regarding whether or not trainers had done any training using Para E Link. 55% or the 56 respondents said "yes" and 45% said "no". An e-mail survey was sent to trained facilitators throughout the state, this revealed that Para eLink content is being used as staff development for paraprofessionals. There are smaller districts that have trained all of their paraprofessionals using Para eLink and the portfolio process. Survey results also showed that some metro districts appear to have not made any decisions about defining local requirements for paraprofessionals and that some metro districts are administrating the ParaPro assessment as their requirement.
Hits for the entire site on a two-year scale is 7,486,593 with an average per day of 15,033.
Percent of trained paraprofessionals:
Given the "hit rates" of Para eLink, a high number of paraprofessionals are using the site. Other data is in the process of being gathered. We do have data that indicates approximately 2,000 paraprofessionals in the metro area (Metro ECSU) have attended a lecture-based format of the core competencies 1-8 using Para eLink as it's foundation. From the email survey @ 500 paraprofessionals were trained using Para eLink. Another source of data will be the repetition of the paraprofessional survey in two years. As we progress over the next few years we will continue to collect data on Para eLink using the Para Survey and collect a year to year summary of it's results and usage.
